• Reaching Kaziranga National Park & IORA

    IORA is located at a 15 minutes walking distance from the entrance of the Kaziranga National Park's Central Range.

    National Highway 37 passes along Kaziranga National Park which connects three cities of Assam- GUWAHATI, JORHAT and DIBRUGARH. These places are also well connected with other major cities of India. IORA can arrange to pick up guests from the following places on request.

    GUWAHATI : Kaziranga National Park is 225 kms. (Approx 4.5 hrs. drive) east of GUWAHATI, the largest city in northeast India. Guwahati is well connected to the rest of the country by air, rail and road network. Guwahati airport is about 5 hrs. drive from Kaziranga. Indian Airlines, Jet Airways, Vistara and GO AIR, Spice Jet, Indigo operate Guwahati daily from Bagdogra, Kolkata, New Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore, Hyderabad,Jaipur and Chennai to Guwahati. Drukair connects Bangkok and Paro with Guwahati twice a week.

    JORHAT : Kaziranga national park is 90 kms west of Jorhat. Jorhat airport is 1.5 hrs drive from Kaziranga. Jorhat is connected to Mumbai, Delhi, Bangalore, Chennai via Kolkata by Jet Airways, Indian Airlines and Indigo.

    DIBRUGARH :Kaziranga National Park is 250 kms. (Approx 4.5 hrs drive) west of Dibrugarh. Indigo and Indian Airlines ( Air India) operates from Delhi & Kolkata.

    By Air :
    Jorhat (97 kms) is the nearest airport from Kaziranga National Park. Tezpur is the another airport that is close to the Kaziranga National Park.Guwahati (250 kms from Kaziranga National Park) is another option. All major airlines connect Guwahati with Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore, Chennai, Hydrabad etc. Taxis are available in these cities to come to Kaziranga National Park.

    By Train :
    Guwahati is the gateway to the North East India and Kaziranga National Park and all major cities of India are well connected to Guwahati including Rajdhani Express. Guwahati, which is about 225 km east of Kaziranga connects with Furkating Railway Station, the nearest station to Kaziranga ( approx. 75 km). Other nearby stations are Dimapur, Mariani and Jorhat. Taxis are available from all these stations to Kaziranga.

    By Road:
    Kaziranga is 225 km east of Guwahati and is a 4 and 1/2 hrs approx. drive along NH37. Kaziranga is 80 km from Tezpur, 90 km drive from Jorhat and 220 Km from Dibrugarh. All these towns are connected by National Highways. The drop off point for bus services is at Kohora on the National Highway 37 (which is less than 3 km to IORA- The Retreat , Kaziranga) and Government and private bus operators have regular bus services through from Guwahati, Tezpur, Jorhat and other towns of Assam.
